Description

Waite Park Neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis is a vibrant community represented by the Waite Park Community Council (WPCC), a non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)3 organization officially recognized by the City of Minneapolis. Established in 1954, WPCC serves as a forum to support the interests of the neighborhood and maintain a high quality of life through community engagement. Located in the far northeastern corner of Minneapolis and on the eastern edge of Hennepin County, Waite Park Neighborhood is characterized by owner-occupied, single-family homes and is home to approximately 5,600 residents.

The neighborhood boasts several notable landmarks such as Waite Park Elementary School, Cavell Park, and Deming Heights Park. WPCC offers a range of programs and services to the community, including security rebates, block clubs, home improvement loans, rain gardens, community gardens, and the Anti-Racism Series. They also conduct a Community Survey to gather feedback and promote community involvement.

Residents are encouraged to attend monthly meetings, held on the last Thursday of each month via Zoom, where they can actively participate in shaping the neighborhood. WPCC operates on an annual budget and provides transparent financial reports. For general inquiries and specific committee contacts, reach out to WPCC via email or the provided phone number.
