Little Amal is a brand that encompasses the inspiring journey of a 12-foot puppet representing a 10-year-old Syrian refugee child called Amal. This remarkable puppet, known as Little Amal, is at the heart of The Walk and has become a worldwide symbol of human rights, particularly those of refugees. Since July 2021, Little Amal has traveled over 9,000km to 15 countries, receiving a warm welcome from more than a million people on the streets and millions more online. In a remarkable expedition between September 7 and November 5, 2023, Little Amal will embark on a 6,000-mile journey across the United States, visiting 35 towns and cities from Boston to San Diego. Over 1,000 artists and arts organizations will create 100+ events to celebrate her arrival. The puppet of Little Amal was expertly designed and built by the renowned Handspring Puppet Company, showcasing their exceptional craftsmanship. Little Amal's mission is to raise awareness, promote dialogue, and ultimately effect change regarding the plight and rights of refugees across the globe.
