## Description

The Alfred Russel Wallace Website is dedicated to celebrating the life and pioneering work of Alfred Russel Wallace (1823-1913), a monumental figure in the field of evolutionary biology. Often overshadowed by his contemporary Charles Darwin, Wallace co-developed the theory of evolution by natural selection and made significant contributions to various scientific disciplines, including glaciology, anthropology, and epidemiology. The site serves as a comprehensive resource, featuring a rich collection of Wallace's writings, a catalogue of portraits, and details on his extensive fieldwork in the Malay Archipelago. Additionally, it promotes the mission of the Wallace Memorial Fund, which aims to properly recognize Wallace's groundbreaking contributions to science. Visitors can explore a wealth of educational materials, including images, articles, and FAQ sections, all aimed at dispelling myths surrounding Wallace and his legacy. This platform not only honors Wallace's scientific achievements but also reflects his wider advocacy for social issues such as conservation and women's rights.
