## Description

WAM, the Turku Museum of Contemporary Art, is a museum dedicated to contemporary art and the visual culture of the city and region. Located on Itäinen Rantakatu in Turku, WAM welcomes visitors to explore exhibitions, events and art from the Turku City art collection. The museum manages around 11,000 works in that collection and also presents public art, including outdoor sculptures. Its programme includes exhibitions by contemporary artists, displays drawn from the collection, and events such as open art workshops. WAM also offers services for groups, schools and daycare centres, helping visitors engage with art in different ways. As a regional responsibility museum, it has a role extending beyond its own exhibitions and collection. The museum provides visitor information, including opening hours, ticket details, travel guidance and accessibility services. Following a period of closure, WAM is scheduled to reopen to the public on 31 October 2026, with an opening weekend on 31 October and 1 November.
