## Description

WanderSearch Canterbury is a charitable trust dedicated to helping people at risk of going missing remain safe while living active, independent lives in their communities. It supports people of all ages with a range of conditions, including dementia, autism and brain injury, and provides devices at no cost to clients. The service is designed to offer reassurance to device users and their whānau, friends, caregivers and care staff, while enabling individuals to continue participating in everyday life.

WanderSearch’s WandaTrak device is worn by the user and emits radio frequencies that can be detected by New Zealand Police and Land Search and Rescue volunteers if the person goes missing. This helps search teams locate people more quickly, which can be critical for those with frail health or limited awareness of environmental hazards. The trust also shares client stories and resources about its devices and services, and invites community support through donations. Its work aims to balance personal freedom with practical safety, giving families and caregivers greater peace of mind.
