The War Amps is a revered registered charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of Canadian amputees. Since its founding in 1918 by amputee war veterans from the First World War, The War Amps has upheld a philosophy of “amputees helping amputees. ” This principle is reflected in their commitment to providing financial assistance for artificial limbs, educating amputees on living with amputation, supporting child amputees, advocating for the rights of all amputees, and employing individuals with disabilities at their sheltered workshop.
