## Description

WARPED TYPE is a Düsseldorf-based group of graphic moving-image artists creating visual experiences for music, performance, and interactive spaces. With roots in both electronic and classical music, the collective draws on rhythms and melodic structures to shape distinctive imagery, an approach it describes as Visual Music. Its work spans music videos, live visuals, stage design, and interactive art installations.

The group has created music videos for artists including Grandbrothers and Hauschka, developing geometric forms, animation, and camera movement in response to their music. For live performances, WARPED TYPE designs tailored stage environments and visual content, as well as festival visuals that combine animated typography, vibrant graphics, and 3D imagery. Its interactive projects invite audiences to participate: the WARPED TYPE Photobooth, for example, turns festival artwork into colorful masks and shares resulting portraits through screens, live visuals, or social media. The collective’s work also includes contributions to INTO SPACES, an evolving exhibition project exploring space. WARPED TYPE are Andreas Huck, Roland Nebe, Florian Breuer, and Stefan Hings.
