Founded by Mike Ritland, a former US Navy SEAL and specialist in providing working K9s to government agencies, the foundation focuses on the well-being and rehabilitation of retired Military Working Dogs (MWD), Contract Working Dogs (CWD), and Law Enforcement K9s (LEO). They also offer rehoming options to ensure the retired K9s find loving forever homes whenever possible. For those dogs that cannot be placed in new homes, the foundation serves as a sanctuary of last resort, providing them with comfort and care throughout their retirement. With over 170 K9s retired, rehabilitated, and rehomed to date, the Warrior Dog Foundation has made a significant impact in honoring and supporting these courageous dogs and their handlers.
