## Description

Warriors of Hope is a breast cancer survivor dragon boat racing team formed in October 1999 and based in North Bay. Through the sport of dragon boat racing, the team demonstrates the physical and mental benefits of exercise and the possibility of living a full, active life after breast cancer. Its guiding values are camaraderie, commitment, courage, and compassion.

The organization welcomes both paddling and non-paddling members, offering survivors opportunities to connect, take part in fitness and training, and support their healing and well-being. Team members compete at paddling festivals, including events in the breast cancer survivors division, and share testimonials and stories about their experiences.

Warriors of Hope also serves as a community ambassador for dragon boat racing and works to raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research toward a cure. Its activities include fundraising events such as an annual golf tournament and yard sale, as well as volunteer and sponsorship opportunities.
