About

Description

In line with their vision, the Warrior Women Project is dedicated to preserving and sharing the untold stories of the Red Power Movement and modern Indigenous struggles. Their focus lies in collecting a wide range of oral history interviews from key organizers and activists, with an emphasis on Indigenous matriarchy and movement building. By documenting, preserving, and cataloging these histories, they ensure that the voices of frontline communities and organizers on the ground are accessible to those who need them most, including educators working towards decolonization and anti-racism in the classroom.

The Warrior Women Project goes beyond simply creating an archive. They actively collaborate with indigenous communities, striving to put history back in the hands of its makers. If you have relevant source materials to contribute or any queries about the archive, reach out to them at info@warriorwomen.

org. Additionally, the Warrior Women Project is involved in the Water Protector Oral History Project. This grassroots initiative aims to provide a space for individuals who participated in the resistance movement against the Dakota Access Pipeline at Standing Rock to share their stories on their own terms.

By visiting their website, you can directly learn from a diverse range of Water Protectors who stood in solidarity to protect the water of the Missouri River. Stay connected with the Warrior Women Project through their website for updates, access to their shop, and opportunities to donate and support their vital work. Together, let's amplify the voices of Indigenous communities and contribute to a more inclusive and equitable future
