## Description

Wartime Canada is an innovative digital platform dedicated to preserving and sharing the visual heritage of Canada during the World Wars. Envisioned as a resource to make historical materials freely accessible, the site focuses on artifacts that were often seen as disposable but played a significant role in the daily lives of Canadians at war. Users can explore a wide range of categories such as Eating, Fighting, Learning, and Remembering, encouraging a unique, non-linear journey through history.

The website is a collaborative initiative involving universities and institutions across Canada, supported by grants from The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and the Ley and Lois Smith Fund. It features a growing collection of documents and images that are downloadable for research and reproduction, all meticulously curated to ensure they remain in the public domain. Wartime Canada not only serves as an educational tool but also invites contributions of materials from the public to enhance its offerings, reinforcing its commitment to preserving this vital aspect of Canadian history.
