## Description

**Brand Description: Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM)**

The Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu (RIVM) is a leading Dutch research institute that focuses on public health and the environment. Through its Food Consumption Survey (Voedselconsumptiepeiling or VCP), RIVM gathers critical data on the dietary habits of approximately 3,500 individuals, encompassing both children and adults. The survey, conducted between 2019 and 2021, provides valuable insights into what, where, and when the Dutch population eats and drinks.

This information is essential for policymakers and health professionals, guiding them in promoting healthy eating, sustainable food practices, and innovative food products. The VCP highlights significant shifts in dietary habits, such as increased consumption of plant-based products and reduced intake of processed foods. Moreover, it addresses nutrient intake levels, ensuring alignment with dietary guidelines provided by the Dutch Health Council. By disseminating this comprehensive data, RIVM contributes to the ongoing efforts for improved public health across the Netherlands.
