## Description

National Water Supply and Drainage Board is the principal authority in Sri Lanka that provides safe drinking water and sanitation solutions. Established in 1975 under the Ministry of Water Supply & Drainage, it took over major Urban Water Supply Schemes to enhance coverage and service quality. The NWSDB operates 334 Water Supply Schemes, serving over 50% of the population with pipe borne water supply. With a commitment to sustainable water and sanitation solutions, the board aims to ensure total user satisfaction. Alongside providing drinking water, the NWSDB is responsible for the sewerage system in several areas. Additionally, rural water supply and sanitation projects, including deep well programs, are focused on reaching underserved communities. With a customer-centric approach, the NWSDB has expanded its scope and currently serves 2.8 million connections. Dedicated to technological and service excellence, the board aspires to be the most prestigious utility organization in Sri Lanka.
