## Description

The Waterloo Izaak Walton League is the Waterloo chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America and identifies itself as Iowa’s oldest Izaak Walton League chapter. The organization serves as a local home for youth and student shooting-sports groups, supporting teams from Hawkeye Community College, Cedar Valley Shotgunners, and Don Bosco High School. These groups participate in trap shooting and are represented by their respective head coaches.

The chapter also offers membership and hosts events and leagues, with information about its services, hours, directions, meeting minutes, sponsors, and bylaws available through its website. One of its announced community events is an annual fishing derby, scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2026. The derby is free for children aged 12 and under, and registration begins at noon. For updates about specific events and schedules, the chapter directs visitors to its Facebook page. Together, these activities make the Waterloo chapter a local organization centered on community participation, youth involvement, and outdoor recreation.
