## Description

Watr is a Layer-1 blockchain designed to modernize commodity trade, finance, and participation. Built for institutions, traders, producers, investors, developers, and commodity professionals, it combines on-chain identity, liquidity, and trade infrastructure to support more accessible and efficient markets. The platform aims to address challenges in traditional commodity markets, including rigid financing structures, limited liquidity, complex compliance, and barriers to participation, while working with existing industry systems.

Watr supports identity-backed transactions, programmable market structures, and smart-contract-based trade and finance applications. Its features include reusable KYC through TrustProof, digital identity and credentials through TalentLedger, and access to NeoReserves liquidity pools and emerging commodity-finance models. Asset owners and traders can explore financing and programmable liquidity; capital providers can engage with commodity-backed financial instruments; and developers can build applications using embedded identity and compliance tools.

The Watr ecosystem also brings together industry partners and builders, with a focus on verified counterparties, provenance, sustainability, and compliance.
