## Description

Watream is an open directory for discovering free, publicly available live television streams from around the world. It organizes channels by country, category, and language, with search and browsing options that make it easy to find news, entertainment, music, movies, sports, series, and more. Viewers can watch compatible streams directly in a browser without installing an app, creating an account, or paying. Watream currently lists thousands of channels from more than 170 countries, including familiar broadcasters and specialist channels, and identifies stream quality and the number of available sources where that information is provided.

The service is a search layer over the community-maintained, open-source iptv-org channel database. It re-tests sources when its index is rebuilt and filters out channels with no working source, closed channels, adult content, and entries on the upstream copyright blocklist. Watream indexes stream addresses but does not host, restream, or control the broadcasts; video is delivered from the broadcaster or third-party source to the viewer’s browser.
