## Description

The World Anthropological Union (WAU) serves as a vital global hub for the field of anthropology, fostering international collaboration and dialogue among scholars and practitioners. By uniting the missions of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES) and the World Council of Anthropological Associations (WCAA), WAU facilitates cross-border exchanges that invigorate transnational anthropologies.

The organization is dedicated to raising awareness of global anthropological thought within international science and policy discussions and reflects the discipline's commitment to ethical and scientific values. WAU's priority activities include hosting congresses, such as the upcoming World Anthropological Union Congress set for November 2024 in Johannesburg, and organizing webinars and interviews that enhance professional discourse.

As a member of the International Science Council and the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences, the WAU plays a key role in promoting inclusive solutions to global challenges, thus shaping a more collaborative future for anthropology worldwide.
