## Description

Waverley Judo is a friendly, family-oriented martial arts club based at Mt Waverley Youth Club in Mount Waverley, Victoria. It teaches traditional Japanese Judo, welcoming beginners and participants of different ages and experience levels. The club’s classes serve children, teenagers and adults, with age-based groups for younger children and juniors, alongside sessions for teens and adults.

Training combines physical fitness with learning Judo techniques, including throws, grappling, pins and control holds. Members can also explore Kata, practical self-defence and personal development. The club emphasizes balance, leverage, movement, timing and technique rather than brute strength, while encouraging mobility, flexibility, confidence, concentration and coordination.

Waverley Judo presents training as both an enjoyable activity and a way to develop self-discipline, courtesy and respect for oneself and others. Classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays, with sessions arranged for different age groups. Prospective members can book a free trial, and the club offers membership information, fees and uniform details, as well as news and updates for its community.
