Washington Area Women's Foundation is a community-supported foundation that is dedicated to empowering women and girls of color in the Washington, DC region. Through their grantmaking and advocacy efforts, they aim to provide opportunities, safety, and security to these marginalized communities. Since their establishment in 1998, they have awarded over $15 million in grants to more than 200 community-based organizations in the area.
