## Description

The Wayne C. Henderson Music Festival and Guitar Competition is an annual celebration of traditional music held on the third Saturday of June at the picturesque Grayson Highlands State Park in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. Named after the acclaimed National Heritage Award recipient and master musician Wayne C. Henderson, the festival showcases some of the finest talents in bluegrass and old-time music, featuring both local artists and international acts from Europe. Established in 1995, the festival honors Henderson’s contributions to the music world and offers a vibrant platform for musicians to perform and connect with audiences. In addition to live performances, the festival hosts a guitar competition that highlights aspiring musicians, with proceeds supporting a scholarship fund dedicated to assisting local young talent in furthering their education. By the time of the 2024 festival, the fund will have awarded nearly half a million dollars, making a significant impact on the community. Join us for a delightful day filled with music, culture, and celebration!.
