## Description

The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund is a foundation focused on advancing equity in education. Its mission is to work alongside people affected by racism and poverty and inspire collective efforts to end both. The Fund supports systems change by partnering with groups that empower communities and seek to make education systems more equitable. Its grantmaking includes responsive grants and Director’s Discretionary Grants, and it also works with grantee partners and coalitions to strengthen shared efforts.

Beyond grants, the Fund commits its investment portfolio to its mission through impact investing. It supports partnerships that combine resources, build capacity, and amplify important issues, and it highlights advocacy and legislative work aimed at transforming systems. The organization shares updates, reflections, and information about its work through its news, blog, and email sign-up. Based in Hamden, Connecticut, the Fund provides information about its mission, principles, history, staff, trustees, and strategic evolution. Its approach centers on collaboration with communities and partners to advance educational equity and address the broader systems that shape opportunity.
