## Description

WCTrust, short for Willistown Conservation Trust, is a well-established brand dedicated to preserving and managing the open land, rural character, historic sites, and natural resources of the Willistown area and nearby communities. Situated just 20 miles west of Philadelphia, WCTrust covers an impressive 28,000 acres within the watersheds of Ridley, Crum, and Darby Creeks in Chester and Delaware Counties. Founded in 1996 by Bonnie Van Alen, WCTrust has made significant contributions to land conservation, permanently conserving over 7,500 acres, which includes three breathtaking nature preserves open to the public. These preserves, Ashbridge Preserve, Kirkwood Preserve, and Rushton Woods Preserve, provide peaceful havens where visitors can connect with nature. As a forward-thinking organization, WCTrust offers six renowned programs that involve the community in research, education, and conservation efforts. These programs include Bird Conservation, Community Farm, Education and Outreach, Land Protection, Stewardship, and Watershed Protection. By actively engaging people of all ages and backgrounds, WCTrust aims to inspire a lifelong commitment to the land and the natural world. With a focus on preserving the unique resources of the region, WCTrust plays a significant role in both local and national conservation efforts. To support WCTrust and contribute to their mission, generous individuals and organizations can become sponsors, corporate partners, or members of prestigious societies like the Sycamore Society or the Legacy Society & Planned Giving. Additionally, passionate volunteers can play an active role in protecting and studying the land. Join WCTrust in their invaluable work and contribute to the preservation and appreciation of the natural beauty that surrounds us.
