## Description

Weeks of the German Language is an annual cultural festival in Cyprus organised by the Embassies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland, together with the Goethe-Institut Cyprus, under the patronage of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth. First held in 2017, the festival brings audiences together through events celebrating the German language and the cultures of German-speaking countries. Its programme includes film screenings, concerts, theatre, exhibitions, lectures, seminars and multimedia events, held at venues across the island. Activities also support German-language education, including events for teachers. The festival promotes multilingualism, cultural diversity and dialogue, while strengthening connections between Cyprus and Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Each edition presents a range of perspectives and stories; the 2025 theme is “Stimmen & Geschichten” (“Voices & Stories”), exploring how language connects people and shares experiences across cultures and generations. The festival’s website provides information about upcoming events, past editions, event calendars and downloadable brochures, helping visitors discover the programme and plan their participation.
