## Description

Body Politic is a brand that is dedicated to destigmatizing the issues faced by the COVID-19 community and individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Their mission is to offer alternative narratives that truly capture the experience of living with a novel or chronic illness. By nurturing a global network of COVID-19 patients, chronic illness allies, and health and disability advocates, Body Politic aims to dismantle barriers to patient-driven care and well-being. They achieve this through peer-support, patient-led research, public education, and community-based advocacy, with a focus on historically marginalized communities. Founded in 2018 as a queer feminist wellness collective, Body Politic established the COVID-19 Support Group in response to the lack of resources for COVID patients. This group has now grown to over 10,000 members from various countries, providing a platform for personal discussion and support. In their work, Body Politic strives to bridge the gap between public knowledge and personal experiences, aiming to destigmatize the issues faced by the COVID-19 community. Ultimately, they envision a paradigm shift where historically marginalized groups have the tools, relationships, and systems to be leaders in their own care and well-being.
