## Description

KEY STATE CAPITAL created the Web of Trust Map, an interactive visualization and open-source dataset documenting the global decentralized digital identity ecosystem. The resource helps researchers, journalists, regulators, academics, investors, and the public explore projects, organizations, and adoption across countries and industries. Its website includes a guided tour, data insights report, and open-data API, alongside searchable maps, rankings, and visualizations of project growth and technology use.

The map’s research identifies 1,286 public entities across 110 countries associated with decentralized identity projects, including entities that fund, manage, join, or affiliate with projects and consortia. Coverage spans regions and fields such as government, finance, healthcare, education, and tourism. The site also examines standards, blockchain platforms, and approaches such as verifiable credentials, decentralized identifiers, and self-sovereign identity. Country and regional profiles highlight initiatives from Bhutan, Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and New Zealand. By organizing extensive ecosystem data and explaining its context, KEY STATE CAPITAL provides a public resource for understanding the development, reach, and technical landscape of decentralized digital identity.
