WeCAN is a community nonprofit serving individuals and families in need in Western Hennepin County, including Mound, Minnetrista, Rockford, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, Tonka Bay, Navarre, Minnetonka Beach, Maple Plain, Loretto, Independence, and Greenfield. Established in 1989, WeCAN was founded to address the lack of social service programs for low-income families in the area.

Our mission is to empower and equip individuals and families to achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Through a range of services, WeCAN supports community members in various ways. We offer emergency assistance, including rent/mortgage/utility assistance, clinic connections, and emergency vet care.

Our family programs provide ready-to-learn school supplies, warm winter gear, the option to adopt a family, birthday shelf items, and personal care/household cleaning products. Additionally, our food support programs include Meals on Wheels, the Mobile Market, and the Kids' Food Program. WeCAN also offers employment programs, providing one-on-one job search help and access to computers and office equipment.
