## Description

**WEEE Open** is an innovative initiative originating from the Politecnico di Torino, dedicated to promoting technology and sustainability while combating electronic waste. Comprised mainly of students, the team focuses on extending the lifecycle of obsolete hardware by recovering, repairing, and refurbishing devices. They efficiently source discarded equipment from the university, meticulously dismantling and restoring it to develop "new" computers that are then donated to schools, nonprofit organizations, and community entities.

In addition to hardware recovery, WEEE Open specializes in software development, creating and maintaining programs that streamline processes related to inventory management and donations. They also engage in advanced electronic design, building diagnostic tools to evaluate the feasibility of repairs on incoming components.

Through their active participation in events and community outreach, WEEE Open invites like-minded individuals interested in computer repair, software creation, and electronics innovation to join their team. Their mission is firmly rooted in promoting reuse, demonstrating a commitment to a less disposable world. Follow them on social media for updates on their initiatives.
