## Description

Civis is a platform for Citizen Science developed by the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT) in open-source code based on EU-Citizen.Science. Our goal is to provide infrastructure and content to expand understanding of Citizen Science, disseminate its use, and support the development of initiatives and application of methodologies in this field, focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean. Civis welcomes anyone to register initiatives, resources, and other Citizen Science content. The platform caters to a diverse audience, including researchers, scientists, educators interested in developing Citizen Science projects, utilizing methodologies, and learning from existing initiatives. It also targets individuals, organizations, and public/private managers eager to support and develop projects in this field. Citizen Science is part of the open science movement, involving various initiatives and methodologies engaging non-scientists in knowledge production and analysis for social, environmental, and territorial issues.
