What started as The Wells Glove Company in Aberdeen, SD, with just $500 and five sewing machines, quickly evolved into a renowned brand known for its high-quality products. Initially focused on leather buggy whips and hosiery sales, the company soon shifted its focus solely to glove production. In 1914, Maurice Lamont joined the company, leading to a name change to Wells Lamont in his honor.

Throughout the years, Wells Lamont established itself as a leader in the industry, particularly with its iconic White Mule leather palm gloves. Under the ownership of the Marmon Group, later acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, Wells Lamont continued to innovate. In 2013, the brand introduced HydraHyde® leather gloves, featuring water-resistant and breathable leather.

Another breakthrough came in 2016 with ComfortHyde™ leather, offering a cost-effective alternative to deerskin with superior abrasion resistance.
