## Description

The "WeltRisikoBericht" is a yearly publication that focuses on a key theme and includes the WorldRiskIndex. It is available for download and in print. The report delves into the impact of extreme natural disasters globally, highlighting the role of societal conditions in disaster management. From earthquakes to storms, the vulnerability of a society to natural disasters is influenced not only by the severity of the event but also by factors such as poverty, inequality, and access to healthcare. By addressing these issues through poverty alleviation, education, and disaster preparedness, countries can reduce their disaster risk. The WorldRiskIndex, developed in collaboration with the Institute for Environment and Human Security of the United Nations University, measures disaster risk for 193 countries based on exposure and vulnerability. The report aims to raise awareness and provide insights for policymakers, focusing on diversity and inclusion in disaster management.
