WPHLAlliance4Children, also known as the West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC), is a prominent nonprofit organization in Philadelphia dedicated to promoting childhood literacy. Their mission is to engage volunteers in Philadelphia public schools by reopening and staffing libraries, ensuring that every student in Philadelphia is equipped with essential literacy skills for their success and the prosperity of the community. Founded in the 2003-04 school year as a collaboration between Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, civic groups, and other organizations, WePAC has since grown into an independent and non-sectarian 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.

Their programs primarily focus on children in grades K-4, which are the crucial early years of their education. WePAC volunteers instill curiosity and cultivate a lifelong love of reading, aiming to bring books, reading, and libraries to low-income schoolchildren who either lost their library or never had one. Currently, more than 95% of Philadelphia public schools lack a functioning library, and 40% of students are at risk of dropping out without graduating.

To address this issue, WePAC has successfully opened and operates nine libraries in Philadelphia since 2009, primarily in West and Southwest Philadelphia, serving over 1,750 students. They are dedicated to being the only nonprofit systematically working to reopen closed school libraries in the city.
