## Description

Westerly is a literary magazine published by the University of Western Australia’s Faculty of Arts. Established in 1956, it has built a strong international reputation for lively fiction and poetry, alongside thoughtful articles. The magazine supports Western Australian writing while featuring diverse voices and creative work from beyond the region.

Westerly publishes print and digital issues, with subscriptions available for 12 months or on a rolling basis. Readers can also choose joint subscriptions with another literary journal. Individual print issues and selected online special issues are available to buy or download free. Its special issues explore themes including oceans, graphic narratives and djinda, and have featured new writing from collectives such as The Writers’ Collective.

The magazine welcomes submissions year-round, including short stories, micro-fiction, poetry, memoir, creative non-fiction, artwork, comics, essays and literary criticism.
