## Description

Western Massachusetts Training & Education Academy provides professional firearms and self-defense training to residents of Franklin and Hampshire Counties. Led by instructor and owner Leon “Lee” Laster, the Academy offers local, affordable instruction designed to build knowledge, confidence, and safe handling skills for both citizens and law enforcement, with a law enforcement perspective adapted to civilian needs.

Training options include handgun, shotgun, and rifle instruction, basic marksmanship, positional shooting, and hands-on exercises, including stress-induced training. Courses also cover pepper spray, tasers, and other defensive options, along with use-of-force lectures, relevant case law, and updates on Massachusetts self-defense laws. Instruction addresses weapon and equipment selection and practical considerations for their use. The Academy also offers the Basic Firearms Safety Course required to apply for a Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification Card (FID).

Based in Millers Falls, Massachusetts, the Academy invites prospective students to register for classes and learn more through its course, resource, and news information. Its training emphasizes education, responsible firearm use, and awareness of self-defense options.
