West Leeds Dispatch is a community-led independent news organization that aims to bring news and information to the residents of West Leeds. Established in 2015 by a group of passionate volunteers, including former Guardian journalist John Baron, the platform strives to make news more accessible and engage local communities in its delivery. With a team of over 60 contributors, they cover a range of communities including Armley, Bramley, Burley, Calverley, Farnley, Farsley, Kirkstall, Pudsey, Rodley, and Wortley. As a not-for-profit social enterprise overseen by West Leeds Community Media, the organization is managed by a board of volunteers who share an interest in community cohesion and engagement.
