About
Description
West Neighbourhood House is a longstanding multi-service neighbourhood centre located in downtown west Toronto. Since 1912, we have been a secular, non-profit, registered charity dedicated to working with the community to address critical issues and drive personal and social change. Our approach is rooted in community strengths, collaboration, local impact, and equitable public policy.
With a team of dedicated multilingual staff and over 800 volunteers, we serve over 15,000 individuals annually. Our wide range of programs aims to address homelessness, housing affordability, employment, poverty, racism, literacy, aging, mental and physical health, immigration, violence, and financial exclusion. From our programs for children, youth, adults, and older adults, we offer community-based social services that support personal growth and provide opportunities for individuals and families to address personal problems.
Our organization is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors, elected by our membership. We also actively engage in community development, public policy, and advocacy work to remove barriers and foster positive change. Operating out of seven locations, we primarily serve the catchment area from Bloor Street to Lake Ontario and Bathurst Street to Roncesvalles Avenue.
However, some exceptions apply. Stay connected with us through our e-newsletter, volunteer opportunities, and social media channels. Donate now to help make a difference in our community
