The Westport Museum for History & Culture (WM) is a renowned cultural and educational organization that has been dedicated to preserving, presenting, and celebrating history since its establishment in 1889. At WM, our mission is to embrace the truths of history so that everyone can connect with our American story. As a private museum, we strive to inspire holistic and inclusive narratives in history.

WM hosts a wide range of exhibits, programs, and events for both children and adults. We curate extensive collections, including archives, costumes, objects, and art, that serve as valuable resources for historical exploration. Notably, our headquarters at the Bradley-Wheeler House, a magnificent 1795 building remodeled in the Italianate style, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Additionally, the Cobblestone Barn, built in 1865 with its unique eight-sided roof, and the restored Adams Academy, a 19th-century one-room schoolhouse, offer visitors intriguing insights into our past.
