## Description

West Virginia’s Christmas City is a seasonal holiday initiative in Bluefield, West Virginia, organized by the City of Bluefield and maintained by the Bluefield WV Economic Development Authority. Its centerpiece is the annual Holiday of Lights, which transforms Bluefield City Park into a festive drive-through display featuring more than 1.5 million lights and themed scenes. The event is part of the Hometown Christmas Festival, a community celebration that invites residents and visitors from across the region to share in the holiday spirit.

Festivities traditionally begin with the Christmas Tree Lighting and continue with activities for families throughout the season. Special events include the Mistletoe Market, a 5K challenge, hayrides, and opportunities to take photos with Santa. In 2026, the Holiday of Lights is set to add a custom maze open during regular operating hours, alongside additional holiday displays and activities. The website provides event information, directions, registration details, donation options, and suggestions for eating, shopping, and staying in Bluefield.
