## Description

Wezesha Youth Initiative is a youth-led organisation based in Nairobi, Kenya, founded in 2018 to empower young people with skills, knowledge, and opportunities to become agents of change. Its work reaches youth and communities across Kenya, with a focus on self-reliance, inclusion, and community action. The initiative reports reaching more than 5,000 young people and brings together members, counties, and strategic partners around its mission.

Wezesha’s programmes address social empowerment and advocacy, including sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender justice, and minority rights. It also supports economic and environmental sustainability through financial literacy and climate action, and offers capacity building through mentorship, education, civic engagement, and leadership development. Other areas include mental health and wellbeing, psychosocial support, and reducing stigma, alongside talent development in creative arts, music, and performing arts. The organisation also builds partnerships across sectors to strengthen its work. Its activities include events, competitions, awards, and opportunities for members and young talents to participate, showcase their abilities, and connect with the wider community.
