## Description

Walking Football New South Wales (WFNSW) promotes WalkSoccer as an inclusive, low-impact way for older Australians to stay active, connect with others and rediscover the enjoyment of football. The organisation welcomes women over 40 and men over 50, while encouraging participation regardless of background, health condition or previous playing experience.

Walking football adapts the traditional game for accessibility and safety. Matches take place on smaller pitches, typically with five to seven players per team, and rules prohibit running and physical contact while keeping the ball below head height. This format supports exercise without the demands of high-impact sport.

WFNSW’s sessions offer opportunities to improve fitness and well-being, enjoy football and build friendships in a supportive community. Newcomers and experienced players are welcome to attend alone, bring a friend or form a team. Through its website, WFNSW shares information about programmes and session times, as well as access to events and membership options via its Open Sports page.
