## Description

The Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group (WGCG) is a registered charity that promotes the understanding and conservation of the unique geological heritage of Warwickshire. Established in 1990, WGCG offers a range of engaging activities, including popular winter evening talks via Zoom, local summer field visits, and residential weekend excursions. The group is dedicated to monitoring and surveying over 80 Local Geological Sites (LGS) and approximately 20 Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) to ensure the preservation of these natural resources. 

WGCG also creates informative materials such as leaflet guides and interpretation panels to educate the public about local geology, and it actively encourages community involvement through volunteer work parties. Additionally, the Holloway Awards, supported by funds from a generous bequest, provide bursaries to aspiring young geologists. With a vibrant membership comprising amateurs, students, and professional geologists, WGCG invites anyone interested in the captivating world of geology to join their mission of learning and safeguarding Warwickshire's rich geological landscape.
