## Description

**Brand Description: Whale Safe**

Whale Safe is an innovative program established by the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory at the University of California, Santa Barbara, aimed at reducing whale-ship collisions in critical habitats, particularly in the Santa Barbara Channel and San Francisco Bay. Collaborating with top researchers from institutions such as Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and NOAA, Whale Safe utilizes cutting-edge technology to track whale activities and inform shipping practices.

The program's key offerings include real-time acoustic monitoring of whale sounds, advanced habitat modeling for blue whales, and visual whale sighting reports collected via trusted observers and mobile apps. Whale Safe also promotes environmental sustainability by encouraging ships to slow down in important whale areas, leading to decreased air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

By fostering partnerships with various organizations, Whale Safe is committed to the conservation of marine life and the promotion of safer maritime practices, ensuring the protection of whales while balancing the needs of shipping industries.
