## Description

WHA Midwives, also known as Women’s Health Associates, is an independent practice of certified nurse-midwives serving the New Haven area and families throughout Connecticut. Founded in 2004, the midwifery-owned practice builds on a tradition of care that began in 1980. Its approach brings each client’s health needs and wellness goals together with current evidence and best-practice recommendations, emphasizing listening, education, informed choices, and personal, direct care.

The practice provides pregnancy and birth care, as well as gynecological services for people from their teen years through menopause. Midwives help clients understand their bodies and options, assess health concerns, identify risks and opportunities, and make choices about their care. WHA aims to support each person’s active involvement in maintaining their health.

WHA Midwives has offices in New Haven and Branford, Connecticut. The Branford location is a satellite office, open about three days a week. The practice describes itself as small and independent, with a longstanding commitment to caring for individuals and families across different stages of life.
