## Description

James Wharram Designs, based in Devoran, Cornwall, specializes in crafting unique double-canoe style sailing catamarans, drawing inspiration from traditional Polynesian canoe craft. Established by pioneer multihull designer James Wharram and later co-designed by Hanneke Boon, the brand has a rich history, with James completing his first Atlantic crossing by catamaran in 1956. Known for their seaworthiness, stability, and simplicity, James Wharram catamarans range from 14 to 63 feet and are available for self-builders with comprehensive, easy-to-follow plans. These plans are often likened to a course in boatbuilding, making them accessible to enthusiasts. Moreover, several franchised yards offer professionally built versions of these innovative designs. James Wharram Designs fosters a community of ocean sailors; many have encountered Wharram catamarans at distant ports worldwide. Whether you're an aspiring builder or a seasoned sailor, explore their offerings and embark on your journey towards sailing freedom.
