## Description

What WayD Says is the writing and wellness platform of Waheeda Joosab, a Durban-based author and educator with an Honours degree in Psychology and a PGCE. Launched in 2015 as a space to write candidly about postnatal depression, it has grown into a place for Muslim women to reflect on the experiences and challenges of everyday life. Its articles explore marriage, parenting, women’s wellbeing, faith, writing and personal reflections, with guidance on topics such as raising children, mental health and navigating life’s transitions. Joosab’s first novel, Kismet – For Roses to Blossom, is available through leading South African bookshops and online retailers. The site also offers letters to readers, including a welcome short story, and shares free resources. For organisations and individuals, services include teacher wellness workshops, private online consultations for women, talks and school visits, and commissioned writing for families and organisations. What WayD Says describes itself as a thoughtful space for the quieter parts of women’s lives and was named Best Wellness Blog for Women in South Africa in 2025 by Global Health and Pharma.
