## Description

Where You Work Matters is an independent initiative that publishes The List, a data-driven assessment of job quality at large U.S. employers. Its ratings are based on the career outcomes of more than 12 million American workers, rather than corporate surveys or focus groups. The organization evaluates more than 1,750 employers and over 55,000 occupations, examining how companies advance, pay and retain their workers.

The List presents overall Platinum and Gold ratings and provides occupation-specific results, helping workers identify employers recognized for the quality of jobs in their field. Its search and comparison tools let users explore employers by occupation and see how similar roles rate across companies. The assessment considers three types of good jobs: Early Career roles that support skills development and advancement, Growth Jobs that build careers and promote internal progression, and Stability Jobs that offer above-average pay and retention.

For employers, The List provides an independent benchmark for comparing workforce performance and assessing pay, mobility and retention practices.
