## Description

The Whisky Ventures Ride is a personal adventure and fundraising project that brings together cycling, travel and a passion for whisky. Created after the Covid lockdowns, it gives its founder a way to pursue challenging journeys closer to home while supporting charities. Having moved to Scotland in 2011, the founder developed a strong interest in the country’s whiskies and the variety produced from just three ingredients.

The project’s longer-term ambition is to cycle around the distilleries of the UK, tackling one home nation at a time. The Scotland ride raised almost £10,000 through fundraising and charity whisky auctions, with participating distilleries invited to donate bottles. In May 2024, the Welsh challenge covered nearly 400 miles, visiting all 10 Welsh distilleries and four air ambulance bases in a week. Its bottle auction and fundraising efforts raised £1,500 for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity.

The website shares routes, maps, media coverage, charity information and project partners, and also offers talks and tastings.
