## Description

Whitesville Historical Society is a community-focused organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Whitesville, Kentucky, and the surrounding area. Founded in 2016, the Society works to provide local historical and genealogical information while encouraging residents and visitors to explore the region’s past. Its mission is to educate the community and foster curiosity, appreciation, and a lasting interest in local heritage.

The Society operates the WHS Artifacts Museum, where it presents temporary exhibits and events designed to make each visit engaging and educational. It also supports the Stinnett House Restoration Project and local log cabin projects, helping preserve important historic places and artifacts. Through these initiatives, the organization offers opportunities to learn about the area’s people, stories, and traditions. Supported by community involvement and generous donations, Whitesville Historical Society continues to expand its work and create enriching experiences for visitors while recognizing that there is always more to discover about local history.
