## Description

Respect in Hockey is an educational program associated with the Western Hockey League (WHL), focused on fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful culture in hockey. Its online course helps players and other participants build the skills and knowledge needed to contribute to safer, more supportive sporting communities and become leaders in promoting respect.

The program combines the online Respect Group Activity Leader course with short lessons featuring WHL alumni, staff, and subject-matter experts. Participants can complete the material at their own pace; the full program takes approximately two to two and a half hours. Completing the courses earns a WHL Certificate of Completion, valid for four years before recertification is required.

The program also offers participants who complete the course access to future exclusive online events and support and guidance from former players. It is made available annually to participating provincial associations, which determine which players or teams must take the course and set completion timelines.
