## Description

Welsh Highland Heritage Railway is a volunteer-run charitable railway in Porthmadog, operated by Welsh Highland Railway Ltd, a registered charity and accredited tourist attraction. It offers visitors a short journey in historic narrow-gauge carriages from Porthmadog to Pen y Mount Junction and back, typically taking about an hour. Trains are hauled by steam locomotives when volunteer staffing allows, or by diesel locomotives at quieter times. The experience includes access to an extensive, hands-on railway heritage centre and museum, with miniature railway rides available on most operating days. Visitors can also explore railway models, exhibits and family activities, or browse the shop for gifts, toys, books and models. Tickets are available at the station and include the train ride, museum and railway centre, and miniature railway; family and other fares are offered.
