## Description

The Women’s Health Research Foundation of Canada (WHRFC) is a Canadian nonprofit organization active since the early 1980s. It works to improve the health and well-being of women and gender-diverse people, addressing physical, psychological, and social dimensions. The Foundation focuses on education, advocacy, and research sponsorship. It raises awareness among governments, the public, and health professionals about women’s health concerns and the limited traditional funding available for research. It also advocates for women’s inclusion in research and for studies to be analyzed by gender and diversity, and supports postgraduate research dedicated to improving health.

WHRFC highlights issues shaped by gender inequality, racism, and classism, including poverty, caregiving burdens, violence, gaps in research, and barriers affecting marginalized women. Its website features programs and resources related to marginalized women’s support and wellness, scholarships, and a research and learning fund. The organization also invites public involvement through donations, fundraising sponsorships, and events, including Dance for Your Health. Through these activities, WHRFC promotes greater understanding, support, and progress in women’s health.
